Endless Online 0.4.37 : Dev Post
Content Update: Revived

Dev Post:

About: Introduction
This update may be modest, but it represents a meaningful step forward in our journey towards complete gameplay. Patch 4.37 introduces a death and revive system that allows players to assist each other, along with technical changes that need testing and server abilities like npc vs npc behavior, quest guidance markers, new maps, and a push to the main story.

About: New Death / Revive System
'' Death and Revive System ''

A new death and revive system has been added to the server, currently in testing. Upon death, players will now see a display showing what killed them and the damage dealt. The system includes several items that allow players to revive themselves (using stimpacks) or rescue others (using medikits)

In the future, revive skills for priests can be added. The system is serverside configurable, allowing to adjust the time a player can be revived and how long their remains stay on the ground. The bonepile also displays the player's name for a personal touch..
About: Map | Aeven Battleground
'' Npcs at war ''

A new map has been added, expanding the main continent further with an ongoing battle between humans and the birdman. Utilizing the recently implemented npc vs npc system, this area introduces dynamic conflict where both factions engage in endless combat.

The map serves as a preperation to future high-level quests, offering players a glimpse into the larger world and the tensions between these two powerful factions. The continuous war creates an baseline for upcoming storylines and content, setting the stage for more challenging adventures.

About: Map | Aeven Grotto
A new grotto map has been added, utilizing the light engine to create a magical atmosphere bathed in purple and green lights. This environment is the perfect home for the newly introduced purple and blue shard spiders, providing them with a fitting habitat in the Aeven world.

The vibrant, glowing lighting enhances the mysterious aura, making the grotto a unique arena that can host future quests and stories (in a later patch)

About: Another Aeven | Main story push
'' Another visit ''

In this update, the main quest 'Another Aeven' picks up where players return from their first warp.

With the inventor's guidance, players can craft a Data Link using the Energy Sampler. Once the device is made, it's time to head back to the Evernet laptop and activate another warp into the unknown. What will be there?

quest: Another Aeven
status: to be continued..

About: Npc Behaviour | npc vs npc(s)
In this update, adjustments were made to the npcs, allowing npcs to be hostile toward each other. This change introduces dynamics between npc factions, where npcs can engage in fights based on predefined behavior. Npcs are now able to attack specific targets or any npc that is not of their own kind.

Player damage remains the top priority, ensuring that npcs focus on the player when present. This update adds more complexity to npc behavior, that allows for storybuilding, quests, etc.

About: Quest markers/guidance system
A new system has been added, allowing quests to place dynamic markers, such as arrows, on the map. This feature helps guide players, particularly new ones, to their quest objectives. By highlighting the path, it improves navigation and ensures a smoother, more intuitive experience for (new) players following active quests.

About: Balance changes

As mentioned in our previous devpost, some small changes are planned as part of a greater balance effort. In this update, some of these changes have been implemented as part of our ongoing efforts to make the game more enjoyable and accessible for all players:

Boss Core balance
In update 4.37, the announced boss rebalancing begins with an increase in the shared minicore drop rate from 10% to 20%. Meanwhile, the individual drop chance for all cores (0.3%) has been reduced. Hopefully this encourages teamwork and makes core weapons more accessible to new players, helping them gear up more effectively.

Jewel/gear set balance
This update will also increase the drop rates for lower-level sets, making it easier for new players to progress toward higher gear. Further changes may be necessary, such as removing coins from the Jungle and Ocean sets. These adjustments will be made in a future patch after carefully reviewing the effects of this update.

About: Balance Boss Cores UPDATE
Following feedback from various players who expressed a desire to keep the full core drops:

The initial plan was to remove all full core drops to remove any incentives that might discourage players from sharing cores. To accommodate the decision to keep full core drops, the only viable solution is to introduce more mini cores as a counterbalance to the full cores, while removing the full weapons to counter the increased number of cores resulting from the additional mini cores.

These changes will take effect with patch 4.37 and remain in place for at least a week.
Please share your feedback and experiences during this period so that the final solution can be developed that serves the majority of players.

What is changing??

4.36 and before 4.37 and future
multi core weapon drops 0.01% no multi core weapon drops
full core drops 0.3% full core drops 0.2% *
10% mini core chance 20% mini core chance
20 mini cores limit / day 30 mini cores limit / day
200 cores = 1 full core 160 cores = 1 full core

* Shadow Golem (only) will feature a 0.4% full core drop rate and 30% mini drop chance, to make the 'entry boss' more accessable and fun to new players.

About: Balance Jewelry/Gear Sets UPDATE
These changes aim to make the first tier of jewelry more accessible and a bit more enjoyable to farm. Drop rates have been doubled, and requirements have been reduced, except for the bracer which was slightly increased to 7 ponytailes each. This adjustment removes the shortcut that made crafting jewelry bases and gear frames out of bracers only easier than the others.

Please share your feedback and experiences during this period so that the final solution can be developed that serves the majority of players.
