Dev Post:
The Halloween Lootchest event was successful, with players collectively looting a total of 32,265* slimes this year. Meanwhile, EO has been worked to receive it's next content update which should roll out in the weekend, which will include the delayed Shadow Gear, Sorcery Armor, new maps, and a fully reworked Underworld to address ongoing issues with imp spawns. Here is a look at Update 33:
|
About: Shadow Set / Shadow Gear / Underworld
|
|
|
'' Underworld 2.0 ''
Ongoing map limitations and troublesome imp spawns in the Underworld have resulted in a complete redesign. The new layout is tailored to support the latest and best gear, with the Shadow set now farmable using a unique material exclusive to the Underworld. The area is also prepared for future updates, including Apozen and new materials, offering high EXP rates and plenty of challenges.
The first change was the addition of a central cave platform to support new mining activities. Surrounding this, nostalgic platforms were placed both above and below, enclosed by cave walls and dramatic lava falls to enhance the environment. The classic maze layout was removed, as it had become unnecessary.
To maintain a constant sense of pressure, each platform is now guarded by a Hell Guardian moving at half speed. All mining materials are also protected, making every movement inside the Underworld intense.

Hallodale Orcs - map in development
Hallodale is expanding to accommodate more activities like crafting, quests, and loot. The map is growing in two directions. To the north, behind the ant nest, is the Orc Fort, which has always been near Hallodale. The classic Orc cave map has been remastered with a more logical entrance to the Orc prisons below, replacing the old underground fort layout.
Hallodale Beaverdam - map in development
The second expansion is a new Forest, hidden behind a beaver dam, fiercely guarded by its grumpy builders. Since no one can get past them, we might need an NPC transformation in the future, allowing players to turn into a beaver and sneak across to the mysterious forest on the other side.
|
|
Nostalgia Valley - map in development
Nestled between the Nostalgia Forest and Nostalgia Edge lies a dark valley, illuminated only by the glow of fireflies. This map is designed as a casual place, with the future goal to develop a Fireflies Festival event, where players will need to chase and capture enough fireflies to fill a shared fireflies jar.

About: Reset / Abort Functions
|
'' Escaping the maze ''
In the old maze design, players often found themselves getting stuck in areas with no way to return, leading to frustrating situations. The lack of exit paths made it easy to become trapped, and players were left with no option then solving it or deleting their character(s)
In this new version of Endless, the quest has been reworked to be entirely voluntary. Players now have the option to leave the maze at any time by aborting the quest in the quest UI or pressing on the several abort buttons located throughout the maze. This ensures that players are never trapped, offering a better experience while still maintaining the challenge of the maze itself.

About: Craft Changes
UPDATE
|
|
|
The current issue
One problem with the current upgrade system for jewelry and gear is that it requires the Ocean Bracers to be turned into Shadow Bracers, which seems somewhat illogical. Additionally, the upgrade chain has become longer over time, making it harder for new players to catch up. This has also created an economic bottleneck, where experienced players simply upgrade their items instead of selling things to others.
Changes
To solve this, two new materials have been introduced: Gear Frames and Jewelry Bases (names may change**). These materials allow players to convert their current gear and jewelry into these new forms, and then back again. This will make it easier to upgrade or downgrade set items and give players more flexibility in choosing their upgrade paths. The idea is that each previous set will produce one more Gear Frame than needed for upgrades, so players can upgrade with fewer items or sell the extra Gear Frame for Eons, helping to create a new economy.
Location
You can find the new gear and jewelry breaker NPCs on the first floor of Aeven Jewel Shop. The Gear Breaker is in the Gear Workshop building, just above Shady's Toolshop, on the upper left side of Aeven Town.
|
While this upcoming change was needed to support future crafting options, player participation is crucial in testing this new system. Your opinions and gameplay are vital in refining features like material-based upgrades, set item changes, and crafting flexibility. The feedback about the this new setup and convert ratios will help shape a better and more balanced experience for everyone in the future.
